Directors’ Profiles:
Richard Wood’s strong links with education have been forged through his position as an active first school Governor since 1997. In the past he has spent time working as a youth worker and lectured in a High School and in Further Education, as well as gaining 18 years experience in training and management. He has always been a keen lover of the outdoors and has been delivering a variety of outdoor workshops in Early Years settings and First schools over the last 5 years. He is a qualified Forest School Level 3 Practitioner, and is currently undergoing Level 4 training with Archimedes with a view to joining their training team. These are added to his comprehensive outdoor leadership qualifications.
Educational workshops are delivered by Richard; his wife Sally assists in the planning and development.
Sally Wood qualified as a Primary teacher in 1987 at Charlotte Mason College in Ambleside, where she gained a B Ed Hons. Now a Head Teacher at Hugh Joicey C of E First School at Ford, she has taught in Germany, Cornwall and Northumberland in Early Years, Years 1,3, 4 and 6. In 2004 she was selected to be a Lead Behaviour Teacher and has for a number of years been responsible for the mentoring of teacher trainees. In recent years she has been curriculum leader for Literacy, Music, RE, D and T, PE and PHSE. She is a full time teacher and a firm supporter of education in the outdoors.
